This 2 star Great Taste Award winning vinegar is warming, sweet, rich and spicy. Drizzle over melon and winter fruit salads. Use in all your Asian inspired dishes. Add a few drops to honey, lemon and hot water for a comforting winter drink.

Ginger wine was a forever favourite of Sarah’s late father, pretty much an everyday tipple. But this is a taste I also remember from childhood, sneaking a drop from the drinks cupboard! Warming your insides, it is a flavour that will sit well in a curry but equally well with fruit—remember melon pieces with a sprinkle of ground ginger?
Much is written about the power of ginger as a ‘superfood’ and its ability to lift dishes. All this points to ginger as an obvious choice from which to make a wine vinegar. We grow our own ginger, the excellent ornamental plants produce wonderful tender aromatic roots. To use this vinegar, think of where you use ginger in your cooking and where you might also need an acid kick, and you will find that it fits in perfectly.
Melon dressing recipe
4 tbsp olive oil
3 tsp Ginger Wine Vinegar
1 tbsp port
Mix thoroughly and daub over melon slices.
